I am unable to unpack the CSDS installer zip file on Windows - I am told there is not enough room and the zip contains hundreds of peta-bytes (PB) of data

Solution

We are aware of a problem with some Windows systems where Windows' built-in mechanism for handling zip files fails to work with our zip archives correctly.

The simplest solution is to use a dedicated zip archive handler, such as Winzip or 7zip - either of these packages should allow you to unpack the installer zip file successfully.
