Nigel Pitchford

Nigel is the CEO of Ieso Digital Health – a company dedicated to developing and delivering pioneering digital solutions that identify, treat and prevent mental illness. Prior to joining Ieso in March 2019, Nigel built a 22-year career in venture capital: he was a Partner at both 3i and Draper Esprit before becoming the Chief Investment Officer and a group board director for Touchstone Innovations plc. Nigel is highly-regarded within the UK life sciences community, and brings significant fundraising, strategic and operational experience. During his venture capital career he has been influential in nurturing successful companies such as Domantis, Arakis, Apatech, Horizon Discovery and Oxford Immunotec.

Nigel studied Chemistry at the University of Oxford, prior to joining Prof Judith Howard’s lab at Durham University for a PhD that was sponsored by the CCDC. He then worked at the CCDC as a Research Assistant (1994-96) before leaving to study for an MBA at Warwick Business School.
