Solution

If you have an existing local licence server then when you renew your access to the CSD Portfolio software you will need to update the licence your local licence server is using. By default, only the node-locked licence is provided by CCDC automatically, so you will need to carry out the following steps:

1. Ask CCDC for a new local licence server activation key via admin@ccdc.cam.ac.uk

2. Once you have the new licence server key, update your local licence server as follows:

  • Stop the local licence server
  • Run the following command from the local licence server installation folder using the activation key provided instead of the example used below:
    Windows: CCDCFloatServer -a -licensekey=123456-123456-123456-123456-123456-123456 -config=ccdc.config -productfile=ccdc.dat
    Linux/macOS: ./CCDCFloatServer -a -licensekey=123456-123456-123456-123456-123456-123456 -config=./ccdc.config -productfile=./ccdc.dat
  • Start the local licence server

You should be able to confirm your licence expiry and features via the Help-About menu item in most CSD Portfolio applications.
