My linux computer has the latest graphics and OpenGL drivers but mesa is being used instead

Solution

If you have up-to-date graphics card drivers and OpenGL drivers installed on your system, our software that takes advantage of these (e.g. Mercury and Hermes) will need access to a program called glxinfo. If the command:

glxinfo

returns a 'command not found' error on your system then you will need to install a package that includes it, such as mesa-utils. Once available on your system, CSD software ought to be able to determine the availability of OpenGL on your system and use those drivers if it can.
